Gangaikonda Cholapuram

Constructed by Rajendra Chola I, the Brihadiswara Temple at Gangaikondacholapuram is celebrated for its exceptional sculptural quality. The temple’s bronze statues of Bhogasakti and Subrahmanya are notable for their exquisite craftsmanship. The Saurapitha, or Solar altar, and the lotus altar with eight deities add to the temple’s revered status.
